The range of human hearing in hertz ranges from 20 Hz to 20000 Hz.
A infrasound is any sound with a frequency above the audible range which is less than 20 Hz. An ultrasound is any sound with a frequency below the audible range which is more then 20000 Hz.
Consonants are certain sound waves that when played (and heard) simultaneously will produce a particularly pleasant sensation when heard. To be dissonant is to lack harmony.
A interval is an intervening time or space in music. An octave is the interval between one musical pitch and another with half or double its frequency.
A decibel is used to measure sound level. An 0Db is the threshold of hearing. At 160DB the eardrum can rupture.
A. Ear canal-The narrow, tubelike passage through which sound enters the ear.
B. Ear flap- the outer ear.
C. Middle ear- eardrum and three tiny, interconnected bones - the hammer, anvil, and stirrup
